大雨と霧の紫雲出山へ——視聴者の声から生まれた“幻想的な朝”

紫雲出山（しうでやま）といえば、春には桜の名所として全国に知られた山。
けれど今回僕が訪れたのは、夜明け前の大雨の日の紫雲出山でした。

実はこれ、視聴者の皆さんからのリアクションがきっかけだったんです。

■「霧が観たい」という無言のリクエスト

ここ最近、YouTubeに投稿した動画の中でも、特に霧の映像を含んだ作品に反応が集まっているのを感じていました。
「もしかして、視聴者は霧を求めているのでは？」——そんなふうに思い始めたのが今回の発端です。

以前からChatGPTに相談していた撮影地候補の中に「紫雲出山」という名前がありました。
正直なところ、「紫雲出山で雨の日に撮る」という発想は自分の中にはなかったんですが、霧狙いならありかもしれない。

そう思い、ちょうど大雨の予報が出ていた日の朝、決行することにしました。

■片道45km、バイクで向かう静かな山道

まだ空も暗い深夜3時ごろ、バイクで自宅を出発。
事前にGoogleマップでルートを確認し、安全に走れることは把握済み。
予想通り、ほとんど車が走っていなかったので、スムーズに移動できました。

登山口が近づくにつれて、山道が徐々に霧がかってくるのを感じて「これはいける」と確信。

■到着。そこは幻想と雨に包まれた世界

山頂に着いたのは早朝5時前。
人の気配はまったくなく、山は雨と霧に包まれて、完全に“無音”の空間。

とはいえ、雨はただのしとしと雨ではなく、横殴りの本降り。
駐車場には屋根がなかったので、トイレの入口を借りて撮影準備を行いました。

■紫陽花はまだ早かった。でも主役は霧だった

紫陽花を期待していたのですが、山頂は標高が高いためか、まだ咲き始めの様子。
でも、今回の主役は花ではなく霧と雨音。

木々に濡れた霧が流れ込む風景は、想像を遥かに超えて映画のワンシーンのような映像になりました。

■桜の名所が見せる、もう一つの顔

紫雲出山といえば春の桜、夏の夕景——そんなイメージが強いですが、
雨の紫雲出山も、まったく違う印象を残してくれました。

自然が見せてくれる“裏の表情”。
これは静かな雨の日にしか出会えない贈り物かもしれません。

A Quiet Journey into the Mist

Mt. Shiude (Shiude-yama) is well-known in Japan for its spectacular cherry blossoms in spring. But this time, I visited it under very different conditions—a stormy early morning filled with fog and silence.

What brought me there? It started with my viewers.

📺 The Spark: Viewers Love the Fog

Lately, I’ve noticed that my fog-themed videos on YouTube get the strongest reactions.
So I thought, maybe people want more of this…
I asked ChatGPT for suggestions, and “Shiude-yama in the rain” came up—a place I hadn’t considered filming during a downpour.

The idea stuck with me.
A storm was coming. So I set out at 3 a.m. on my motorbike, hoping to capture a truly misty landscape.

🛵 The Ride – 45 km in the Dark

The road was long—about 45 km—but at that hour, almost no cars were out.
I checked the route on Google Maps in advance, and everything went smoothly.
As I climbed the mountain, the air grew heavier… then the fog appeared.

Yes, I thought, this is it.

☔ Arrival – Rain, Wind, and Silence

I reached the mountaintop parking area around 5 a.m.
No people. Just the sound of strong, sideways rain and dense mist rolling over the trees.

There was no shelter, so I set up my gear near the restroom entrance—just to keep it dry.

🌸 Hydrangeas Still Asleep, But Fog Took the Lead

I was hoping to catch some hydrangeas, but the altitude meant they hadn’t fully bloomed yet.
Still, that didn’t matter.

Because what I captured was something even better:
cinematic mist, rain on leaves, and absolute silence.

🎥 A Different Face of Shiude-yama

Everyone knows Mt. Shiude for cherry blossoms.
But on this day, under heavy rain and morning fog, it revealed a new face—a quieter, dreamlike version of itself.
