A "fantastic morning" born from the voices of viewers to the heavy rain and fog

Video shooting diary

Shiideyama is a mountain known nationwide as a famous cherry blossom spot in spring.
However, this time I visited Mt. Shiunde on a heavy rainy day before dawn .

In fact, this was triggered by reactions from viewers.

I have felt that
among the videos I have posted on YouTube, especially those that contain fog footage "Maybe viewers are looking for fog?" - that's what started this time.

One of the candidate filming locations I had been consulting with ChatGPT for some time was the name "Shiunde Mountain."
To be honest, I had no idea about taking photos on a rainy day at Mt. Shiunde, but it might be possible if I was looking for fog .

With that in mind, I decided to go ahead and do so on the morning of the day when heavy rain was forecast

It was still dark , and I left my house on my bike
around 3am I checked the route on Google Maps in advance and knew that I could drive safely.
As expected, there were hardly any cars running, so we managed to get around smoothly.

As the trailhead approaches, the fog gradually shining on the mountain path and I am sure I can do this.

We arrived at the summit before 5am.
There was no sign of anyone, and the mountains were completely covered in rain and mist, making it a completely "silent" space .

However, the rain is not just a rainbow, but a heavy rain hit .
There was no roof in the parking lot, so I rented the toilet entrance and prepared for the photo shoot.

I was hoping for hydrangeas, but perhaps because of the high altitude of the summit, it seems to be still in bloom.
However, the main characters this time are not flowers, but fog and rain .

has become a scene from a movie that goes far beyond imagination

When you think of Mt. Shiuiunde, you probably think of cherry blossoms in spring and summer evening views, but
Mt. Shiuiunde in the rain also left a completely different impression.

Nature shows us the "behind the scenes."
This may be a gift that can only be found on quiet rainy days.

The filming footage from the day is currently being shown on the YouTube channel "Setouchi Ambience."
We recorded it in binaural recordings so that you can feel the presence of fog not only in your visual

to immerse yourself in the world of rain and fog with headphones .

Mt. Shiude (Shiude-yama) is well-known in Japan for its spectacular cherry blossoms in spring. But this time, I visited it under very different conditions— a stormy early morning filled with fog and silence .

What brought me there? It started with my viewers.

Lately, I've noticed that my fog-themed videos on YouTube get the strong reactions.
So I thought, maybe people want more of this…
I asked ChatGPT for suggestions, and “Shiude-yama in the rain” came up—a place I hadn't considered filming during a downpour.

The idea stuck with me.
A storm was coming. So I set out at 3 am on my motorbike, hoping to capture a truly misty landscape .

The road was long—about 45 km—but at that hour, almost no cars were out.
I checked the route on Google Maps in advance, and everything went smoothly.
As I climbed the mountain, the air grow heavier… then the fog appeared.

Yes, I thought, this is it.

I reached the mountaintop parking area around 5 am
No people. Just the sound of strong, sideways rain and dense mist rolling over the trees.

There was no shelter, so I set up my gear near the restroom entrance—just to keep it dry.

I was hoping to catch some hydrangeas, but the altitude meant they hadn't fully bloomed yet.
Still, that didn't matter.

Because what I captured was something even better:
cinematic mist, rain on leaves, and absolute silence.

Everyone knows Mt. Shiude for cherry blossoms.
But on this day, under heavy rain and morning fog, it revealed a new face—a quieter, dreamlike version of itself.

You can watch the full ambient video on my YouTube channel, Setouchi Ambience .
It features high-quality binaural audio and visuals that bring the mist to life.

Put on your headphones, and take a step into the rain with me.
